Baking as usual :)

Thank you to all who came to our Easter Bake Day, I've been totting up the Hot Cross Buns over the recent weeks and realised that I've made at total of 482, so that's all for this year folks :)
If you were lucky enough to pop up to Parkers in Northfields Avenue, you may have been able to bag one of their famous Hot Cross Buns on their last day of trading. As one of the oldest bakeries in London, opened back in 1913, they have served the local community with high quality bread, not just baked on the premises (as supermarkets claim of their frozen dough), but made by hand with the first baker starting at 3am each day.
Small, local, independent bakeries were once the heart of every neighbourhood. Sadly, today around 80% of UK loaves are produced by the factories of a handful of industrial bakers and another 15-17% by supermarkets - places far removed physically and socially from our local communities.
Katie and I love baking for you, and after a day in the kitchen we look forward to those two hours when our customers come to catch up, chat and collect their loaves - a true community built around great bread.
After our Easter hours (baking on Thursday), we are back to Fridays for the foreseeable future.
We've had a bit of a tidy up of the online store to make it easier for you to find the products that you want. We've changed the collections to reflect the type of dough used and then you can choose the individual shape/size/product from there. We hope it helps! We've got some lovely loaves that people don't seem to find, why not try something different and let us know what you think of the new categories...
If you can't find your favourite, just type it into the search bar - we want to make things as easy as possible!
So have a look around, let us know what you fancy (by Thursday 5pm) and we can get started!
Don't forget that all our loaves are made with organic flour and ethically sourced ingredients and everything can be frozen if you don't think you'll eat it all straight away.
Thanks and we hope to see you on Friday,
Sara & Katie
