For such a time as this...

For such a time as this...

Dear Customers,

Thank you for your ongoing support and welcome to all our new customers!

We are keeping positive and are really encouraged by all the care that is being shown within our community, the resourcefulness, resilience and commitment to be cheerful...

- Hen Corner celebrates 10 years next month and if there was ever a time to be producing your own food for your family and community, it's now.

 - If there was ever a time to pass on food tips and recipes, it's now.

I'm reminded of the bible story of Esther (chapter 4 v 14) "And who knows but that you have come to this position for such a time as this?"

So we are trying to step up to support, care for and feed as many people as possible.

We are currently able to get flour directly from the mill, so we will continue to bake bread. If we run out of yeast, it'll all be sourdough!

I've gone through the website and removed everything that I can't get ingredients for, the range may need to be reduced further as the weeks go on, but we will do our best to bake good bread for you.

As all of our courses have been postponed, we are switching to online encouragement via short films on our YouTube Channel, we hope you like them.

Hope to see you soon,

Sara

p.s. The hens are doing well and are loving the sunshine!

***Current Situation***

  • We are currently planning to continue baking every Friday for our local community and will be assessing our best practices alongside Government Guidelines on a daily basis.
  • From now we ask that payment is made online, when placing your order, to minimise handling cash and we will have your orders packaged up ready to serve you from the front door.
  • Over the coming weeks, we may need to reduce the range of products that we have available each week, this will be subject to demand and availability of ingredients.
  • Thank you for your understanding :)
