Summer Days, drifting away…
Thanks to those who have ordered bread from us in recent weeks, a bit of extra planning went into last Friday when the temperatures soared to 33c, we started extra early to avoid having the ovens on at the hottest part of the day!
Longstanding customers will know that we usually close the bakery during the school holidays as routines for many are often more exciting during the summer. This year, we are taking a slightly longer break and will be closed throughout July and August. This will allow us flexibility for a family break, extra summer bee keeping courses, taking the church youth group to camp and towards the end of August our apple harvest and cider making, which includes making apple and chilli jelly!
Our last baking day before our break is this Friday, 24th June, we will open again on Friday 2nd September.
Summer Eggs Club
Whilst we are taking a break from baking, our hens are continuing to lay lovely eggs!
If you would like to join our Summer Eggs Club, a WhatsApp group that coordinates egg sales whilst the bakery is closed, please let me know and we can add you in.
Summer Courses at Hen Corner
As the sun continues to shine, we’ve got some lovely courses lined up, including Full Day Bee Keeping and A Day at Hen Corner. Join us as we make the most of wonderful seasonal produce with Making Scones and Jam and Introduction to Pickles and Preserves.

We will open our weekly micro bakery again on Friday 2nd September.
If you'd like to try our bread, our whole range can be viewed by collection (e.g. White Bread, Blended Flours, Sourdough, Special Grains, etc.), and can be ordered directly from our online store.
Don't forget that all our loaves are made with ethically sourced ingredients and everything can be frozen if you don't think you'll eat it all straight away.
